•Urged immediate de-escalation and offered U.S. facilitation.

May 8, 2025 Key Developments:

Eight Pakistani-origin missiles targeted Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia in Jammu. All were successfully intercepted by Indian Army and Air Defence units.

Ministry of defence  confirmed military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were again targeted on May 8, 2025, using turkey’s SORDEN drones and missiles, swiftly neutralized via kinetic and non-kinetic SOPs.

May 7, 2025 Key Developments:

  • India’s Response: Operation Sindoor

India responded on May 7, 2025, with a series of calibrated, non-escalatory air and ground strikes named “Operation Sindoor”. Conducted with precision, the strikes targeted nine terror launchpads and logistic hubs in:

•Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bagh)

•Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan (Balakot area again)

•Southern Punjab (Bahawalpur, Multan region)

According to the press information bureau, the Indian Air Force  and Special Forces units ensured that no Pakistani military installations were targeted, avoiding escalation. The operation’s objective was threefold: deter further attacks , pre-empt additional terrorist infiltrations, convey India’s zero-tolerance approach to cross-border terrorism

National security advisor Ajit Doval promptly briefed  his U.S. counterpart and secretary of state Marco Rubio, reinforcing India’s diplomatic transparency and strategic intent.

  • The Pahalgam Attack

On April 22, 2025, a group of seven-armed terrorists affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and its proxy The Resistance Front brutally killed 26 civilians, including a Nepali citizen, in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Victims were shot execution-style at point-blank range, many in front of their family members, underscoring the attackers’ intent to traumatize and intimidate.

Pakistan initially claimed India struck only 5 sites, but in the 9 May 2025 briefing, its Deputy PM acknowledged additional locations like Sialkot —confirming India’s claim of 9 strike targets. This shift subtly validates India’s operation.
